It's July 4th & I just got home from work. I'm very glad to be able to relax.

My family & I had our celebration on Saturday the 1st since it was easier for everyone. We had a good time & I got see folks I hadn't for awhile.

I'm still working for Catholic Charities with the elderly and enjoying it. I've gotten more clients recently; the need is only increasing as our population ages and more seniors are dealing with physical challenges. I feel blessed that I can make a difference in someone's life.

I continue to love my apartment; it's comfortable, affordable, and in a good location. I got lucky when I found it & have a good relationship with my landlord, too.

I'm grateful for all the blessings in my life.

I'm moving my live journal content over here since everything's going to Russia.
It seems to be going well.

I'm working over @ Catholic Charities now doing home health / housekeeping for seniors and am enjoying it.

I love my apartment! I think I mentioned I'd moved last time I'd posted here.

We're supposedly moving into spring, although we had some heavy, wet snow further north yesterday. We had a snowstorm here last Saturday, but a lot has melted already.

I'm ready for the snow to be over with NOW!

A lot's changed since my last post. I've got a new job & I moved 1 1/2 hours south & found a new apartment. I really love both!

I'm looking for a 2nd job...maybe something from home to help bring more money in. Why have the prices for everything gone up, but peoples' paychecks haven't?!
It can definitely make it a challenge to pay your bills.

I'm still working at the grocery store but found a place to live about 10 min away. No more commute!

I've been to the doctor last week due to extreme shoulder pain. He put me on prednisone which is helping somewhat, but doesn't take the pain away constantly.

I figure I'll be seeing him again soon for a better solution.

I'm so glad that the big snowstorm on the East coast didn't come up into Northern New England! I've been seeing news reports of 2-3 FEET of snow all along the Eastern seaboard. We're not expecting any snow; winter cant end soon enough for me!

I went to orientation. I think this is going to be a good place to work.

I've also begun looking for a new place to closer to my new job. The morning of orientation, I had to scrape frost off my windows & let the car warm up. Combine that with the hour long drive...yeah, I'm moving closer. I already let my landlord know & have begun packing.

It's happening a bit backwards (having a job 1st, then finding an apartment) but I know I'll find a good place to live.

It's also blasting me out of the rut I was in. I was depressed / frustrated I couldn't find work nearby & nothing I was doing changed that.

I've just got to stay positive while apartment hunting (and not give in to fear / worry) and also while training on the new job.

new job..

I took a part time job at a grocery store. I'm glad I'll be working again, but have to commute an hour. Despite applying to multiple businesses closer to home, I had no luck getting hired.

Orientation starts next week. It'll be good to have some income again.

My temp job as a receptionist at the local college is ending Thurs. It's been a very positive experience and I'm a bit sad that it's done.

Of course I've been job searching trying to find a new (similar) position. Hopefully,I'll find something soon.

I planted some vegetables & flowers again this year. Food prices just keep on rising,so anything I can grow or make myself will help my budget.

I'm also quilting; the baby quilt I've made just needs the binding sewn on & it's finished. I've already started cutting out fabric for an adult quilt, too.

I'm trying to stay busy & to be grateful for all the blessings in my life.

since the last time I posted. I got a full time job that paid $3 more an hour in September then got fired with no warning on Xmas Eve.

I've been unemployed and job hunting since then. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's not always easy.

I was advised I qualify for unemployment but so far no checks have come in. I've been blessed that my family is supporting me (both financially & other wise) during this time.

I'm hoping that next week the unemployment checks will arrive.

Just heard about Leonard Nimoy's death on the evening news;it's sad that we've lost so many talented people recently.

have been happening! I got a part time job @ Sam's Club July 18th and have recently gotten a newer used car. It runs SO much better than the old one did & the registration / plates are set until next August.

The only thing I need to do is winterize it....AAA is running a free clinic in Oct in my area to winterize members' cars. I'll be stopping in for my free service for sure!

I've also been trying to find a study group I can join so I can take my pharmacy tech exam again. No luck yet,but I'll keep looking!

I've started planning the Xmas gifts I'll be making this year. It might seem early, but Xmas is about 3 1/2 months away & now that I'm working,I'll have less time to quilt. It's better to start early than run out of time!

I can't believe it's already April! I've got new dentures that are working out pretty well;it's great my mouth doesnt hurt anymore!

I'm unemployed again; my job ended at the beginning of Jan so I'm back to the job searching grind. I'm trying to stay positive & search for work at least 3 times a week.

I just saw the new Hobbit movie w/my Mom. I wont post any spoilers, but it was awesome! I cant wait for the 3rd part, either.

I had a good Christmas but I'm glad it's done.

We're in the midst of yet another big snowstorm. We're expecting 6-12 inches by morning. It's been frustrating because every single weekend there's been a storm with some smaller ones scattered throughout the week. It's been going on all month;is it Spring yet?!?!
trinaward1: (Christmas Ornament)
We've had snow & freezing rain all weekend. There's about a 1 inch coating of ice on everything including my car..which I cant get into. I can lock / unlock it, but the doors are frozen shut. We're supposed to get more freezing rain tonite / tomorrow, too. Is it Spring yet?!?!
trinaward1: (Snowy Mountain)
It's Dec 1st and it's been snowing off & on all day. We're only supposed to get 2-4 inches but it's the first storm we've had with measurable snow. Groan! I guess winter really IS here.
trinaward1: (Autumn Stream)
and it was ok. I hosted the gathering this year:the food turned out well & everyone seemed to have a good time.

I had to work a few hours late today (yes,I got a job!) and Black Friday madness was everywhere! I'm glad to be home & to have the weekend off!!

My gift making is going well. I have 3 to make: 1 is done, the 2nd is 3/4's done, and the 3rd hasnt been started yet. I plan to get the majority of 3rd gift sone this weekend. I think I'll get them all done in time this year.
trinaward1: (Halloween)
pretty well lately. I've become used to the new diet & am actually following it. No sneaking sweets for this girl!
I've also started walking around the block twice a day and my clothes arent tight anymore. I've havent lost a lot of weight yet ( maybe 5 lbs) but I feel better & am getting 7-8 hours of sleep, too.

I'm waiting to get the results of a drug test & background check for an employer and then I might have a job! I hope to hear from them soon.

I've started making my Xmas gifts. Last year I waited too long then I had to rush to complete them in time. I'm proud of myself for starting on them early this year!
trinaward1: (Sphere)
because I recently started a new diet. Per doctor's orders I'm now on a reduced gluten diet. I started the 13th and now I can eat: lots of fruits, veges, home cooked meat,no cow's milk and reduced amounts of rice & potatoes. I also completely cut out the diet Coke I used to drink. Thank goodness I can still have natural cocoa for the caffeine I need!

I know it's healthier for me and will help w/any thyroid and shoulder trouble I have. Got to say, though, plain yogurt is nasty. Even the fruit and honey I add doesnt help. I'm supposed to have it for breakfast every day. I'm hoping my doctor will let me replace it with something else..maybe cottage cheese. I love that stuff!

I'm back!!

I'm finally back on lj! Things have been crazy these last few months re: my health, my job,etc.. but I finally am able to do something enjoyable again! I look forward to seeing what I missed.
trinaward1: (Sunset Paradise)
I quit my job 2 mos ago because it was causing both my shoulders/arms to freeze up and be very painful. It was the best thing I could've done!

Even though I'm still job searching,my stress levels have gone way down and my attitude has improved immensely since I left. Both my arms /shoulders are much better. I rarely get some pain in my right shoulder and nothing in my left at all.

I've been making sure to be more involved w/my family, too. Not only am I talking to my Mom & brother more, but this summer I've made a point to connect with my extended family whether its for a baby shower or helping an uncle get ready to move at the end of this month.

I've also had some success with my porch vegetable garden. My scallions, basil and carrots are doing well. I also found 3 flowers on my tomato plant today! I didnt think I'd have any luck with those this year. Looking forward to seeing exactly how many I end up with.

Things are getting better and I'm grateful for all the blessings in my life!

It's been raining for the last 3 days & its supposed to go thru the weekend. I hope we'll see the sun sometime soon!

Been lots of ups & downs re: my current job and looking for a new position. I'm almost ready to take the test for a pharmacy tech. It cant happen soon enough! The pain in my right shoulder has now spread to my left one making it very hard to do anything, much less typing for 10 hrs a day.

I've also been looking for a 2nd job in the meantime..just to get some more money coming in every month.

I'm trying to stay as positive as possible and also to spend time w/my family. They're very supportive of me which is something I really appreciate.

Another weekend, another big snowstorm. It's been snowing for the last day & a half;we'll probably have close to a foot of snow by the time it's done. They're already predicting another messy snowstorm for midweek, too.

I'm really sick of snow!!
