I love the foliage and the cooler temps; this is my favorite time of year! My family is all doing well and I'll be spending time with my Mom tomorrow. Now if I could just find a job, everything would be perfect. I've lost count of the places I've applied to and the interviews I've had. I'm trying to remain positive and grateful for all the blessings I have, but sometimes it's hard not to be down about the whole thing.

I'm home!!

I had my knee surgery and it went very well. I stayed with my Mom for 5 days since she has no stairs at her place. I've had barely any pain since & what discomfort I've had has been handled easily by Tylenol.
I returned to my place last night; I'm so glad to be home! I'm grateful there hasn't been much pain and that my knee has been feeling better.

It's been a humid, grey day & I'm hoping we'll get some rain soon. I've got knee surgery coming at the end of the month; I've got a tear under my kneecap. Some days I can't put any weight on it & others I might be able to walk on it for up to an hour. I'd just started a new job when my knee got bad; once I let the company know what was happening, they fired me. It's been a frustrating, upsetting situation, but I'm so grateful my family has been helping me.
After the surgery, I'll be on crutches for at least 3 days and then back to being able to walk after about 5-10 days without them. I should be able to get back to full, normal activities in about 6 weeks.

I'm looking for a job I can do from home while I recover.

Lots of changes coming up; just got to keep on keepin' on.

Happy upcoming birthday!

I went to get my taxes done today; I'm glad I could get it done early. I'll even get a small refund that I can really use. It'll take about 20 days to get here, though. I'm grateful for the extra money...just wish it'd get here sooner!

I'm not feeling energy for much of anything lately. I've also been job searching for awhile which has been frustrating. I've got a few different ongoing quilting and crocheting projects that I don't have much desire to touch. We've had snow storms of various sizes roughly every 2 -3 days for the last week and half.

I'm SO over winter, but there's at least 2 more months to go. Is it Spring yet?!

Happy upcoming birthday, Ladyholder!

We're expecting rain, sleet, and snow over the next 2 days. It's not supposed to be a major storm, but I'm NOT looking forward to cleaning up. When is Spring again?!

Good news!

I got a new job that I'm really enjoying. Not only is the work interesting, but the people are great. I hope to stay with the company a long time!

We'd started getting warmer weather and have had a few sunny days in the 60's, but for the most part, things have been chilly & rainy.

Our tourist season started on Memorial Day which brings a lot of needed cash into the state (and annoying traffic jams), but the cool temps aren't helping things.

Here's hoping it gets warmer & we see some sun soon!

has finally arrived! We're actually getting 60 degree days now with bright sunshine.
I'm so glad to be done with snow for awhile!

It's been quite a while since I posted, but things are going well.

My Mom had a health scare over Thanksgiving, but is doing much better now. I'm very grateful for that!

This year has gone by so quickly; I can't believe Christmas is almost here.

We havent had a lot of snow, but it's been VERY cold lately.

I got an early Xmas present: a new laptop! My old one died & I'm so glad to get a new one.

I hope everyone has a great holiday!

It's been a few months since I last posted, but things are going well in not only my job, but in general.

I've taken up crocheting again as a hobby to go along with quilting & am enjoying both very much!

We've started having summer like weather which is great, but I'm not used to the humidity anymore. I went out to do my errands early this morning & now I'm back home with my fans going full blast. I'm hoping it'll cool down a bit later today.

Things have been busy but good.

I've got a new job that I'm really enjoying. I regretted having to leave Catholic Charities, but I simply couldn't earn enough money to pay my bills.
I'm now making a good salary which is a relief!

I'm getting ready for the holidays. My brother's hosting Thanksgiving & I'm bringing a meat pie. I've got another for myself & I made some chocolate fudge tonite for Mom & I. My brother doesn't eat sugar so I wont be bringing any tomorrow.

I'm having some auto repair done early next month. I went to a variety of garages to get estimates & the dealership I bought the car from actually has the best price. I was quite surprised!

I haven't started really thinking of Xmas yet, but want to try to get things done early, not wait until the last minute. We'll see how those plans work out.

It's July 4th & I just got home from work. I'm very glad to be able to relax.

My family & I had our celebration on Saturday the 1st since it was easier for everyone. We had a good time & I got see folks I hadn't for awhile.

I'm still working for Catholic Charities with the elderly and enjoying it. I've gotten more clients recently; the need is only increasing as our population ages and more seniors are dealing with physical challenges. I feel blessed that I can make a difference in someone's life.

I continue to love my apartment; it's comfortable, affordable, and in a good location. I got lucky when I found it & have a good relationship with my landlord, too.

I'm grateful for all the blessings in my life.

I'm moving my live journal content over here since everything's going to Russia.
It seems to be going well.

I'm working over @ Catholic Charities now doing home health / housekeeping for seniors and am enjoying it.

I love my apartment! I think I mentioned I'd moved last time I'd posted here.

We're supposedly moving into spring, although we had some heavy, wet snow further north yesterday. We had a snowstorm here last Saturday, but a lot has melted already.

I'm ready for the snow to be over with NOW!
trinaward1: (Fall Foliage)
A lot's changed since my last post. I've got a new job & I moved 1 1/2 hours south & found a new apartment. I really love both!

I'm looking for a 2nd job...maybe something from home to help bring more money in. Why have the prices for everything gone up, but peoples' paychecks haven't?!
It can definitely make it a challenge to pay your bills.

I'm still working at the grocery store but found a place to live about 10 min away. No more commute!

I've been to the doctor last week due to extreme shoulder pain. He put me on prednisone which is helping somewhat, but doesn't take the pain away constantly.

I figure I'll be seeing him again soon for a better solution.

I'm so glad that the big snowstorm on the East coast didn't come up into Northern New England! I've been seeing news reports of 2-3 FEET of snow all along the Eastern seaboard. We're not expecting any snow; winter cant end soon enough for me!
trinaward1: (Fall Foliage)
I went to orientation. I think this is going to be a good place to work.

I've also begun looking for a new place to live..one closer to my new job. The morning of orientation, I had to scrape frost off my windows & let the car warm up. Combine that with the hour long drive...yeah, I'm moving closer. I already let my landlord know & have begun packing.

It's happening a bit backwards (having a job 1st, then finding an apartment) but I know I'll find a good place to live.

It's also blasting me out of the rut I was in. I was depressed / frustrated I couldn't find work nearby & nothing I was doing changed that.

I've just got to stay positive while apartment hunting (and not give in to fear / worry) and also while training on the new job.
